  • What emotions come up when you think about the climate crisis? Perhaps you feel sadness, guilt, apathy, numbness, frustration, anger, overwhelm, a combination of these, or, entirely different emotions altogether. Whatever your emotional response, you are welcome to a climate café to talk about it.

A climate café is a brave, supportive, and confidential space for participants to share our responses to the climate crisis. Climate cafés focus on feelings; no feeling is too difficult or taboo to discuss. Participants are invited to share as much or as little as they are comfortable with.

Whether you live with mental illness or just have an interest in it, you are welcome! Topics vary and the goal is to expand our understanding and compassion as we learn how to focus on wellness and what we can do - not what we can’t.

  • Join us over the lunch hour where we will watch a short and intriguing TEDTalk video together that is related to wellness and recovery as it pertains to mental health (including addiction).

After the talk we’ll have a casual, safe and open conversation on what we have learned, and discuss how we can incorporate new ideas and strategies for wellness into our own lives. TED is a non-profit devoted to spreading ideas, in the form of short and powerful talks (ted.com).

  • Not currently offered - pending walk leader position being filled (volunteer basis). If you’re interested in leading a weekly walking group, please email: wellness@healthyminds.ca

We are proud to offer this walking group through a partnership with NS Walks (a program under Hike Nova Scotia that is sponsored by the Province of Nova Scotia).

The goal of NS Walks is to create social supports to increase opportunities for people who are currently less active to enjoy the benefits of walking. Walking includes all abilities. This group is for adults only, and no pets are allowed unless they are registered service animals (e.g. guide dogs).

Participants will also have to sign a participant agreement and waiver form which will be available to sign before the walk, each week.
